ABOUT APARTMENT
Sai baba complex in Goregoan east is one of the famous residential complexes in Goregaon area, it is preferred area by many television and Bollywood artists due to its proximity to Goregaon film city and many studios around. Most of the buildings in this complex are around 20 – 25 years old. Rather than purchasing apartment in new construction, couple preferred to renovate their apartment as it offers best connectivity with highway as well as to film city.
INTERIORS PROJECT
In 2016 couple decided to go for complete renovation of their apartment including all bathrooms, floor tiles change and demolition of couple of walls to increase the space inside the rooms. After renovation decision, they started search for the best interior designers and decorators in Goregaon area, they met quite a few interiors firms in Goregaon, Malad, Powai areas but could not take their decision. During same period family visited one of their relative’s farm house in Lonavla where decormyplace team was involved as an interior designers and decorators, they liked the overall work done by decormyplace team and approached us for their renovation project.
The scope of work involved demolition of all floor tiles, both bathrooms, kitchen countertop, 2 walls to be demolished and to be replaced with storage end to end height, designing of kitchen, dining table, customized sofas, home automation, windows change, complete new electrification and plumbing.
Couple desired to have complete classic look with the pastel colour rather than using veneer or laminates for most of the places, they preferred classic PU satin finish with bidding design to bring out the classic richness. Even daughter’s room we kept the same theme with grey PU and light pink shade of upholstery. One bathroom was completely demolished and converted in to walk in wardrobe with modern wardrobe fittings. As husband like to read books, we created small study room with lots of storage for books. Various options of floor tiles used for various areas including Italian marble, wooden design tiles etc. We preferred see through glass partition between kitchen dining and living, this helps to lower down the air conditioning requirement of living rather cooling both kitchen and living all the time. Hardware used is mostly from Hettich / Hafele / BLUM.
CLIENT’S COMMENT
As it is lucky home for us and convenient location as well, we decided not to shift to new place, rather decided to go for complete renovation though it was going to be an expensive affair. After renovation decision the obvious step was to look for committed team for this project which can handle our expectations and give us our dream home in earliest possible time frame. We started hunting for the best interior designers and decorators in Goregaon or rather in western part of city, in the process we met few of our friends and during one party at Lonavla we found interior of the farm house matching with our taste and immediately decided to meet decormyplace team and appointed them as our interior partners at the end of meeting. The overall designing phase, execution phase went as planned with few hiccups which was well managed by team and at the end of 4 months we received our dream home with complete home automation. Frankly speaking, budget was never constrain for this project as it is going to be our home for next 15-20 years, but decormyplace team controlled budget quite professionally and helped us to save wherever we can.
Now team is renovating our Alibaug holiday home, eager to see it completed soon.
